Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Field Service Technician I to power future opportunities by performing testing, maintenance, and repair of low and medium voltage electrical equipment in shop and field settings. Expect up to 50% overnight travel and hands-on work with breakers, transformers, and switchgear.

The role requires a High School Diploma, 3–6 years in related maintenance, and preferred NETA certifications. Proficiency in MS Office and a valid driver's license are essential.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma.
• 3 - 6 years’ related experience in commercial and industrial maintenance.
• Minimum 3 years of industrial or commercial power systems testing.
• Licensures and Certifications: NETA 2, 3, or 4 preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work with clients.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
• Valid Driver’s license and good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing on low and medium voltage breakers including Megger, Ductor, Hi-Pot, Hi-Current, and Timing tests.
• Complete mechanical work and repairs on breakers and switches, including tear down, refurbishment and parts replacement.
• Wiring circuit breakers.
• Utilize and accurately read test equipment.
• Read schematics and wiring drawings.
• Troubleshoot circuit breaker controls.
• Read and plot time-current curves.
• Test transformers, including Power Factor and TTR.
• Accurately and consistently document using Power DB.
• Able to work with electrical tools and socket sets.

Position Overview

Power your future with Qualus inour Field Services department as a Field Service Technician I. As a Field Service Technician I your responsibilities include performing testing, maintenance and repair of low and medium voltage circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, motor control and other electrical apparatus in the shop and in the field.

Travel: 50% overnight travel

Responsibilities

• Ability to communicate effectively in English (inclusive of reading and writing) due to the nature of safety-related materials, documentation, and interactions with clients.
