Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Field Service Technician II to perform testing, maintenance and repair of low and medium voltage electrical equipment in the shop and in the field in Utah. You will work with breakers, transformers, switchgear, and motor control systems, applying tests and documenting results.

The role requires 1–5 years of related experience, a High School Diploma, and a valid driver's license. NETA certification is preferred, and strong communication skills are essential for safety-critical

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-5 years related experience in commercial and industrial maintenance.
  • Minimum 2 years of industrial or commercial power systems testing.
  • NETA 2, 3, or 4 preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (reading and writing).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Perform testing on low and medium voltage breakers including Megger, Ductor, Hi-Pot, Hi-Current, and Timing tests.
  • Complete mechanical work and repairs on breakers and switches, including tear down, refurbishment and parts replacement.
  • Wiring circuit breakers.
  • Utilize and accurately read test equipment.
  • Read schematics and wiring drawings.
  • Troubleshoot circuit breaker controls.
  • Read and plot time-current curves.
  • Test transformers, including Power Factor and TTR.
  • Document accurately using Power DB.
  • Work with electrical tools and socket sets.

As a Field Service Technician II your responsibilities include performing testing, maintenance and repair of low and medium voltage circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, motor control and other electrical apparatus in the shop and in the field.

Responsibilities
  • Performing testing on low and medium voltage breakers including Megger, Ductor, Hi-Pot, Hi-Current, and Timing tests
  • Completing mechanical work and repairs on breakers and switches, including tear down, refurbishment and parts replacement
  • Wiring circuit breakers
  • Utilizing and accurately reading test equipment
  • Reading schematics and wiring drawings
  • Troubleshooting circuit breaker controls

  • Accurately and consistently documenting using Power DB
  • Able to work with electrical tools and socket sets
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma
  • 1-5 years’ related experience in commercial and industrial maintenance
  • Minimum 2 years of industrial or commercial power systems testing
  • Licensures and Certifications: NETA 2, 3, or 4 preferred
  • Reference and complete assignments as described in applicable specifications
  • Perform regular field work both indoors and outdoors
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, business acumen, management ability
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Valid Driver’s license and good driving record
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (inclusive of reading and writing) due to the nature of safety-related materials, documentation, and interactions with clients.
