Job summary

GEA Group is seeking a field service professional to supervise start-up of product lines, perform maintenance and repairs on refrigeration systems, and provide technical training. The role requires strong electrical knowledge, ability to read P&IDs and schematics, and proficiency with PLC/Microlink, with extensive travel.

The ideal candidate has 2–5+ years in industrial refrigeration, RETA CIRO certification preferred, and readiness to work extended hours and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school or trade school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2–5+ years’ experience with industrial refrigeration equipment REQUIRED.
  • RETA CIRO certification is highly preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical systems, wiring and control schemes.
  • Able to read P&IDs and electrical schematics.
  • Knowledge of ANSI/IIAR-6 2019 and adherence to its standards.
  • Able to travel 90% of the time.
  • Able to work extended hours including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises start-up of the company’s product line.
  • Performs maintenance procedures and warranty work on refrigeration systems, troubleshoots and repairs electrical and mechanical problems.
  • Performs compressor repairs.
  • Assists other departments in the development of new products and the improvement of existing products from a service perspective; works with PLC & Microlink related issues.
  • Initiates recommendations for improved tools, procedures, and devices for service operations.
  • Submits all time sheets, expense reports, service tickets, start-up reports, inspection reports, and other required paperwork in a timely manner; provides technical training to users/customers.
  • Possesses ability to work on spiral freezers including maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervises Start-up of Company’s product line.

  • Performs maintenance procedures and warranty work on Company’s product line. Troubleshoots and repairs electrical and mechanical problems on refrigeration systems.

  • Performs compressor repairs.

  • Assists other departments in the development of new products and the improvement of existing products from a service perspective. High level of competency with controls related issues including PLC & Microlink.

  • Initiates recommendations for improved tools, procedures, and devices for service operations.

  • Submits all time sheets, expense reports (within 30 days), service tickets, start-up reports, inspection reports, and other required paperwork in a timely manner. Provides technical training to users/customers.

  • Possesses ability to work on spiral freezers including maintenance and troubleshooting

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Your Profile / Qualifications
  • High school or Trade school diploma or equivalent

  • 2-5+ years’ experience with industrial refrigeration equipment REQUIRED

  • RETA CIRO Certified highly preferred

  • Advanced working knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and control schemes.

  • Capable of reading P&IDs and electrical schematics.

  • Knowledge of ANSI/IIAR-6 2019 and capable of adhering to its standards.

  • Ability to travel 90% of the time.

  • Ability to work extended hours on occasion, including weekends and holidays.

The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $39.41 - $44.99 per hour. GEA Group has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States.

The pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for the position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. You may be eligible for additional rewards, such as discretionary bonus (based on eligibility) and/or equity awards.
