Job summary

Technical Safety Services (TSS) is a nationwide lab service provider delivering test, certification, and service for cleanrooms and lab equipment. Our technicians work on-site at customer facilities, traveling to sites daily and operating a company vehicle.

As a Field Service Technician in Austin, TX, you will perform testing, calibration, and repairs, communicate with clients, and complete reports promptly. Training is provided, with growth opportunities and comprehensive benefits offered.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Background in customer service and some mechanical or electrical experience preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technical work.

Responsibilities

  • Travel daily to customer sites in your assigned territory.

  • Lift, carry, and move equipment weighing 50–100 lbs.

Your Day-to-Day Environment
  • Travel daily to customer sites in your assigned territory, driving about 30–300 miles per day
  • Work independently out of your own company‑provided service vehicle
  • Lift, carry, and move equipment weighing 50–100 lbs while standing and walking for most of the day
What You'll Take Ownership Of
  • Perform testing, certification, calibration, and repairs across different lab environments with a strong focus on quality
  • Work directly with clients to understand their needs, communicate clearly, and make sure the job is done right
  • Build strong relationships and be the main point of contact for customers on site
  • Complete reports and required paperwork on time to keep projects on track and clients update

What You'll Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelor's degree is a plus)
  • Background in customer service and some mechanical or electrical experience
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technical work
  • Good communication, basic math skills, and comfort using Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently, manage your time, and travel (including some overnights)
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
