Job summary

Technical Safety Services (TSS) is seeking a Field Service Technician in California to travel to customer sites, work independently in a company-provided service vehicle, and support on-site labs with testing, calibration, and repairs. You will interact directly with clients, ensure quality outcomes, and complete required paperwork on time.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Background in customer service and some mechanical or electrical experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technical work.
  • Good communication, basic math skills, and comfort using Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time, and travel (including some overnights).
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Travel daily to customer sites in your assigned territory, driving 30–300 miles per day.
  • Work independently out of your own company-provided service vehicle.
  • Lift, carry, and move equipment weighing 50–100 lbs while standing and walking most of the day.
  • Perform testing, certification, calibration, and repairs across lab environments with focus on quality.
  • Build strong relationships and be the main point of contact for customers on site.
  • Complete reports and required paperwork on time to keep projects on track.

Your Day-to-Day Environment
  • Travel daily to customer sites in your assigned territory, driving about 30-300 miles per day
  • Work independently out of your own company-provided service vehicle
  • Lift, carry, and move equipment weighing 50-100 lbs while standing and walking for most of the day
What You’ll Take Ownership Of
  • Perform testing, certification, calibration, and repairs across different lab environments with a strong focus on quality
  • Work directly with clients to understand their needs, communicate clearly, and make sure the job is done right
