Job summary

RAE Corporation, based in Pryor, Oklahoma, is seeking a Service Department Technician to perform on-site service and startup of commercial and industrial HVAC and refrigeration equipment. The role includes troubleshooting, providing remote technical support, and maintaining detailed field records.

The ideal candidate has an Associate degree or equivalent, 3+ years in the field, and strong communication skills. Travel is required up to 60% with a focus on safe, compliant installations and service.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree (two-year college or technical school) or equivalent job experience.
• Minimum of three years' field experience in HVAC/refrigeration service.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills and ability to read a tape measure to 1/16 inch.
• EPA certification preferred; Journeyman license preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site service and startup of commercial and industrial HVAC and refrigeration units.
• Troubleshoot equipment by observing operation and testing system functionality.
• Provide technical support via phone or email using schematics and data.
• Log all service activities, call logs, and parts used for records.
• Travel to customer sites (up to 60%) and install/repair equipment as required.
• Ensure proper operation, safety, and compliance with government regulations.
