Job summary

Vistabeam is seeking a dependable Service Technician in Cheyenne, WY to install, maintain, and troubleshoot internet and transmission equipment in the field. You will handle wireless radios, routers, fiber ONTs, switches, and cabling, following NEC standards and safety protocols.

The role requires physical ability to work on rooftops and ladders, operate a bucket truck, and provide Tier 2 support while documenting work and coordinating with engineering and network teams.

Qualifications

• Strong desire to learn IP networking and broadband technologies.
• Ability to climb A-frame and extension ladders up to two stories and safely perform rooftop work.
• Ability to safely operate a bucket truck.
• Ability to perform field work in varied weather conditions.
• Ability to follow OSHA requirements and company safety procedures.
• Strong problem-solving and connectivity troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain internet equipment, including wireless radios, routers, fiber ONTs, network switches, and cabling.
• Install cabling and equipment in accordance with NEC low-voltage standards.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and program Vistabeam-owned and customer-owned electronic transmission equipment.
• Perform equipment realignments and service adjustments to maintain reliable customer connectivity.
• Provide Tier 2 technical support for field network technicians.
• Collaborate with managers, engineering personnel, and the network team on infrastructure and special projects.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and service work.
• Comply with CPNI (Customer Proprietary Network Information) requirements to protect customer information.
• Follow OSHA requirements, company safety procedures, and technical standards.
• Perform additional field and operational duties as assigned.
