Job summary

Ponder Environmental Services is seeking a Field Service Technician to join our team on a diverse range of environmental and industrial projects. You will perform hazardous waste cleanup, confined space entry/rescue, and heavy equipment operation across multiple sites and shifts.

Required are 1–3 years of related experience, HAZWOPER certification, and a California driver’s license. We offer competitive pay with benefits and opportunities for overtime and travel.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1-3 years of related labor experience for hazardous waste cleanup.
• Familiarity with respiratory protection and chemical hazards.
• Working knowledge of field equipment and gear.
• Strong problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments.
• Basic computer and smartphone app skills for timekeeping and communication.
• Commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Perform heavy physical labor including lifting and moving heavy objects.
• Conduct tank cleaning, hazardous waste cleanup, confined space entry/rescue, and industrial maintenance.
• Operate industrial equipment: pressure washers, vacuum trucks, water blasters, pumps, and forklifts.
• Assist with job site setup, containments, barricading, and equipment staging.
• Support emergency and scheduled cleanups with packaging, decontamination, and chemical transfers.
• Inspect vehicles and equipment; perform routine cleaning and maintenance.
• Follow safety protocols, wear PPE, and complete training and documentation.
• Work in varied weather conditions, indoors and outdoors; travel and overtime may be required.

Education

40-Hour HAZWOPER with 8-hour refresher

HAZMAT Certification
