Job summary

Southern States Material Handling is seeking a Field Service Mechanic to maintain and repair propane, diesel and electric powered forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks and related equipment across our Central Georgia and Florida territory.

You will receive a service van and tools, paid training, and opportunities to grow as you earn certifications. The role emphasizes problem solving, independent work within a team, and commitment to customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED mandatory.
• Technical school coursework in electrical, mechanical, or automotive fields is a plus.
• ASE certifications are a plus.
• 1 year mechanical knowledge preferred.
• Experience with diesel equipment, lift trucks, or related systems is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical malfunctions; operate test equipment.
• Operate forklifts for troubleshooting and QA checks after repairs.
• Dismantle/assemble engines, transmissions, differentials, fuel and hydraulic systems.
• Service forklifts with water, fuel, oils, and lubricants; use solvents when needed.
• Align, repair, or replace worn components.
• Use hand or power tools and precision measuring tools.
• Ensure completion of work and customer satisfaction.
• Stay up to date on TMHU training online.
• Manage multiple customer work orders with timely completion.
• Ensure paperwork is complete and signed by customer.
