Job summary

Sumitomo (SHI) Cryogenics of America, Inc. “SCAI” is seeking an experienced technician with 3–5 years of hands-on experience in testing, repairing, and maintaining electromechanical or vacuum equipment.

The role involves on-site and in-house service of cryogenic vacuum pumps, with limited travel and potential non-traditional hours. The technician will calibrate, maintain, install, modify, build, and assemble equipment, identify root causes, apply corrective actions, and support customers as

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED and a 2-year technical degree or equivalent experience.
• Prefer 3+ years hands-on experience with electromechanical or vacuum equipment.
• Proficient with mechanical tools and service test equipment; strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
• Good written and verbal communication, customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate, maintain, install, modify, build and assemble cryogenic vacuum pumps and related equipment.
• Identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Provide on-site and in-house customer service as needed; minimal travel (up to once per year).
