Harnish Group Inc. in Fairbanks, Alaska is seeking a Heavy Equipment Field Technician (Resident) for our Service Department. Salary range is $63.65-67.65 per hour, with pay based on skills and experience.

The role involves diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment, including engines, powertrains, and hydraulics, using CAT diagnostic equipment and tooling. Travel to client sites may be required, and a valid driver's license is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver's license required; may involve forklift operation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook).
• Ability to stand up to eight hours per day and travel as needed.
• CAT dealership or CAT product experience preferred.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing heavy construction equipment required.

Responsabilités

• Diagnose and repair heavy equipment, including removing, assembling and installing components.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot engines, powertrains, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Work with CAT diagnostic equipment and CAT repair tooling.
• Plan and organize work to control job costs.
• Investigate problems and identify recommendations to eliminate causes.

We have opportunities as a Heavy Equipment Field Technician (Resident) in our Service Department at our Fairbanks, Alaska Branch. Salary Range: $63.65-67.65 per hour. Hourly offered based on skills and experience.

Essential Duties

• Diagnosing and repairing of heavy equipment (including removing, repairing, assembling and installing).
• Diagnose and troubleshoot engines, powertrains, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Experience with CAT diagnostic equipment, CAT repair tooling, rigging and blocking equipment.
• Requires planning and organizing skills with a particular emphasis on controlling job costs.
• Investigate, analyze and identify problem in order to make recommendations for eliminating the problem.

Education, Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• A high school degree (or equivalent) or a graduate of a 2-4 year vocational technical school training institution or equivalent experience is required.
• A valid driver's license will be required where it will be used for potential forklift driving and operation equipment such as hydraulic and mechanical presses, hoists, cranes, pressure washers, as examples.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook).
• Ability to stand up to eight hours per day and includes twisting, bending, squatting, sitting stooping and kneeling.
• Flexibility to travel for extended periods of time to work with our customers will be required.
• Experience working at a Caterpillar (CAT) dealership or with CAT products is ideal.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing heavy construction equipment required
