Harnish Group Inc. in Williston, ND is seeking a Diesel and Natural Gas Engine Field Technician. The role focuses on diagnosing and repairing Caterpillar engines and transmissions at customer sites, with emphasis on troubleshooting gas and diesel engines and electrical systems.

You will travel to customer locations, plan projects to control costs, and rebuild engines with limited supervision. Requirements include a 2-4 year vocational school or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and

Qualifications

• Graduate of a 2-4 year vocational technical school or equivalent preferred.
• Valid driver's license.
• Proficient in Word, Excel.
• Ability to stand up to eight hours per day and accommodate physical requirements.
• Willingness to travel for extended periods.
• Experience with CAT products preferred.
• Strong background in natural gas and diesel engines.
• Ability to perform engine and component rebuild with limited supervision.

• Diagnose and repair Caterpillar engines and transmissions including removal, repair, assembly, analysis, and installation.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot gas and diesel engines and electrical systems.
• Plan and organize to control job costs across multiple projects.

Diesel and Natural Gas Engine Field Technician

Hourly Pay Range: $56.95-58.35 (Based on Skills and Experience)

Essential Duties

• Diagnosing and repairing of Caterpillar engine and transmissions including removing, repairing, assembling, technical analysis, failure analysis, and installing.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot gas and diesel engines and electrical systems.
• Due to the multiple projects you will be assigned, this position requires planning and organizing skills with a particular emphasis on controlling job costs.
• You will need to investigate, analyze and identify the problem in order to make recommendations that eliminates the issue.

Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Graduate of a 2-4 year vocational technical school or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Valid driver's license.
• Proficient in the use of a computer and related software (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Ability to stand up to eight hours per day and includes twisting, bending, squatting, sitting stooping and kneeling.
• Flexibility to travel for extended periods of time to work with our customers.
• Experience working at a Caterpillar (CAT) dealership or with CAT products is preferred.
• A strong background in natural gas and diesel engines that includes knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and engine components is preferred.
• Ability to perform engine and component rebuild with limited supervision
