Job summary

ZEISS seeks a Field Service Technician for the Chicago area. You will begin with a comprehensive 3-month training in-field and classroom, then travel to customer sites to install, repair, troubleshoot, service and calibrate advanced measuring instruments.

You will work hands-on with high-tech CMMs, document service work, and maintain records while representing a leading science and technology company in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• Tech school/associate or bachelor in a technical discipline preferred.
• Military technical training accepted.
• Experience with hand tools and basic electrical test equipment.
• Microsoft Windows knowledge required.
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Available for minimum 50 hours per week (overtime).
• Industrial production shop environment experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Complete ~3 month in-field and classroom training to gain necessary skills and tools.
• Travel to customer sites in the region to install, repair, troubleshoot, service and calibrate measuring instruments.
• Work hands-on with high-tech CMMs using mechanical and electronic aptitude.
• Document service work and maintain accurate service records.
• Represent the company professionally while working in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
