Job summary

Sterling Engineering is seeking an Automation Field Service Technician to install, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain robotic and automated manufacturing systems. This remote-based role requires residence in Kansas and frequent travel to support customer installations.

You will read blueprints and schematics, collaborate with engineering teams, and ensure equipment runs efficiently. A technical degree or equivalent hands-on experience is required, with welding experience being a plus, and

• Technical degree, trade certification, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Experience with industrial automation, manufacturing equipment, fabrication, machine shop, or mechanical/electrical systems.
• Welding experience is a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and desire to learn new technologies.

Location: Remote role but must be based in Kansas, preferably near Garden City.

This role requires approximately 80-85% travel to support customer installations, maintenance, and system optimization across the Southeast US region.
