Job summary

SAMST is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to install, service, and troubleshoot SPSG equipment at customer locations across North America and internationally.

You will diagnose mechanical, electrical, PLC, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation issues, provide training, and support demonstrations and new installations. Travel up to 75% is required; valid driver’s license is essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a technical or engineering field is preferred; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
• Level II advancement requirements or equivalent approved experience are desired.
• Minimum 5 years of Field Service Technician experience.
• Minimum 2 years of experience servicing SPSG equipment or similar automated machinery.
• Strong knowledge of PLCs, automation controls, electrical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams, and technical drawings.
• Strong communication, customer service, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, troubleshoot, repair, and commission SPSG equipment at customer locations.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, PLC, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation system issues.
• Provide customer training and technical support related to SPSG equipment.
• Support equipment demonstrations, product trials, and new installations.
• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and other internal teams to support customer projects.
• Maintain accurate service reports, documentation, and expense records.
• Travel as required to customer and SPSG locations throughout North America and internationally.
• Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in good working condition.
• Follow all company and customer safety policies and procedures.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.
