Job description

We have a need for a skilled Automated NDE Field Service Technician. Our Automated NDE Field Service Technician will be based in our office Pittsburgh and travels to power plant sites across the Americas including the United States, Canada, Central and South America to provide nondestructive testing services. This position will support the Specialty Services product area, which includes non-traditional testing services such as remote visual and robotic inspection services.

How You'll Make an Impact:

1. Prepare for and support field service jobs at power plants located at domestic and international job sites, with a focus on visual, electrical, and mechanical testing in large electric generators and/or turbines using remote robotic inspection equipment.
2. Utilize your experience with borescopes and/or other remote visual inspection (RVI) tools.
3. Perform field inspections per Siemens requirements.
4. Travel (up to 60% annually for this position) to power plant sites.
5. Support customer power plant outage planning and production control by ensuring the timely delivery of tools, personnel, and field inspection activities through the application of field service systems and procedures.
6. Prepare shipments of test equipment for domestic and international shipping.
7. Support development of new and continuous improvement of existing specialty service applications and tooling for use in the field.
8. On-site and off-site technical and operational support in the design, development, installation and maintenance of equipment and systems of a complex nature.
9. Communicate technology and inspection findings to global Siemens team members and with internal and external customers.

What You Bring:

• 3- 5 years of related work experience plus NDE Training, Experience and Certifications (UT, ET, PT, MT, VT).
• Working knowledge of RVI tools and methods.
• Demonstrated mechanical, hands-on skills.
• Demonstrated electrical/electronic, hands-on skills.
• Knowledge related to the inspection of turbine and generator components.
• Must be self-driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as work well in groups.
• Very strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver the highest quality work in a safe and efficient manner.
• Flexibility to adjust and thrive in an environment with changing requirements, schedules and priorities for multiple projects or assignments.
• Must be able to pass extended background check for unescorted access to Nuclear power facility.
