Field Service Technician 2 (2nd Shift) ($1,500 Sign-On Bonus) (H/F)

Objective:
The Field Service Technician II provides on-site support at the Air Framer for Safran Aerospace Seats pertaining to interiors manufactured in USA, France, and Great Britain. The team of Field Service Technicians provides assistance to Air Framer / Airline customers during the build of the Aircraft specific to installation issues, damaged parts, reworking pickups, cosmetic defects, and any customer relations issues we have. Rework areas include: Receiving, BFE, Factory, and Flight line relating to all built Aircraft with Safran Seats product. All rework performed at the Air Framer must adhere to Safran Seats drawings, specifications, and specific rework instructions. This position will work under general supervision and reports to the OSS Manager on a daily basis. This position handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more highly complex issues to higher-level technicians.


Authorities:
This position has the power and control to certify their own work performed in accordance with approved engineering.


Main Function Responsibilities
  1. Rework and stamp pickups self-identified and/or written by Air Framer and/or customer during the build of the Aircraft.
  2. Replace/troubleshoot faulty electronic components and other damaged parts, adjusting misaligned panels/trim pieces, provide assistance to the Air Framer seat installation team and other miscellaneous tasks given.
  3. Sustains a high quality level of workmanship at all times.
  4. Responds promptly to all communication (telephone, etc.) with Air Framer personnel and customers.
  5. Maintain a good rapport with Air Framer personnel and customers.
  6. Follow Safran/Air Framer safety guidelines or processes established by the organization at all times.
  7. Submits accurate part order requests and understands the POA/SOA process at Air Framer/Safran.
  8. Responsible for driving company van and other technicians safely around Air Framer/Safran Facilities.
  9. Attend Safran daily standup/tie-in meeting.

Qualification Requirement:
A. Education & Qualification
• High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associates Degree in a related technical field preferred.
B. Work Experience - Technical knowledge
• At least 2 years of Field Service experience related to troubleshooting and repairs required.
C. Professional Skills
• Natural mechanical ability with hand and power tools
• Basic working knowledge of CMM's, Engineering Drawings and other technical documents.
• Basic computer knowledge and have some familiarity with MS office applications.
• Proficient using smart phones/tablets on a daily basis to send emails, pictures and other applications.
• Valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a passport.
D. Behavioral Skills:
• Ability to work efficiently under stressful situations.
• Follows instructions and completes jobs in a timely manner.
• Customer service is essential for this job and the employee must have excellent communication skills, verbally and hand written.
• Must have the availability to work various hours, after hours and weekends as needed.
• Must have ability to maintain multiple tasks simultaneously, including the ability to manage assignments from more than one customer during any given day.
• Willing to travel to other Air Framer FALs in other states and other international Safran sites on some occasions.
• Must have the ability to generate written communication and to operate required office equipment.
• Ability to read and review written communication.
• Speech and hearing abilities that allow individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English.
E. Desirable Aspects
• Hands-on electrical troubleshooting knowledge i.e., testing voltage and continuity.
• Demonstrated participation in continuous improvement efforts
• Clear written and verbal communication
