Job summary

ZEISS in Milwaukee seeks a Field Service Technician to install, repair, troubleshoot, service and calibrate advanced measuring instruments at customer sites. After a ~3 month training, you will travel within your region, often 70-90%, handling high tech CMMs.

You will document service work, work independently in a fast-paced environment, and benefit from a company vehicle, travel expenses coverage, training, and rapid advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED, or equivalent technical training.
• Technical or military training in electronics or industrial mechanics.
• Experience with hand tools and basic electrical testing equipment.
• Valid Driver License.
• Willingness to travel up to 70–90% within region.

Here's what you'll do

Engage in a comprehensive ~3 month in field and classroom training program to ensure you have the skills and tools to be successful. Once trained, you will travel to customer sites in your region to Install, Repair, Troubleshoot, Service and Calibrate the most advanced measuring instruments in the world. Work hands on to learn new skills on high tech CMM's (Coordinate Measuring Machines) utilizing mechanical and electronic aptitude. Document service work and maintain accurate service records. Work independently while representing the company in a fast-paced and innovative environment.

What we are looking for

• Minimum, High School graduate, completed GED or equivalent.
• Or, Tech School, associate, or bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as, Electronics, Industrial Mechanics, and the like.
• Or, Training and experience from a Military Technical School.
• Prior experience working with hand tools and basic electrical test equipment.
• Microsoft operating system knowledge is required.
• Capable of unassisted physical lift of one article weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Able and willing to work minimum of 50 hours per work week.
• Regular + OT.
• Ability to work in an industrial production shop floor environment.
• Valid Driver License required.

Nice to haves

• Previous experience installing and troubleshooting industrial electronics, machines, or computer systems.
• Previous CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) installation and troubleshooting experience is preferred however not required.

Variables include: Competitive Base pay OT: Average OT is 10 hours a week and paid out at time and half - we basically pay for your travel time! Annual bonus program: - eligible for an additional bonus at the end of the year. Company vehicle - can use it for personal use as well! The pay offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.
