Job summary

Pengate Handling Systems, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain material handling equipment at customer sites in the Northeast. You will communicate directly with customers, perform forklift inspections, and ensure safe, reliable operation of equipment to boost productivity.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical, electrical, automotive, material handling, or related repair fields.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving mindset.
• Effective communication skills (customer and internal).
• Ability to work independently in the field.
• Focus on producing accurate paperwork and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted technical resource for our customers and internal teams.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of material handling equipment (basic to advanced repairs).
• Perform comprehensive forklift inspections to identify needed repairs and proactive maintenance.
• Communicate with customers regarding repair needs, timelines, cost changes, and additional service recommendations.
• Work safely and follow all company safety policies and industry’s best practices.
• Complete accurate, organized service documentation and submit within required timelines.
• Maintain and safely operate a company-provided service vehicle, including parts inventory.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and professional at customer sites.
• Represent the company through professional appearance, communication, and customer service.
