Job summary

KESTREL Vision seeks an experienced Field Service Technician to install, commission, and support high-speed machine vision inspection systems across North and South America. You will operate on demanding production lines, travel extensively, and partner with customers as a trusted technical advisor.

The role demands hands-on hardware/software troubleshooting, strong communication, and the ability to work independently in active manufacturing environments with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience servicing electro-mechanical or industrial equipment.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex hardware and software systems.
• Experience with wiring termination, cable management, and control panels.
• Experience assembling equipment, frames, and support structures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and upgrade machine vision inspection systems at customer sites.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and software systems.
• Diagnose and resolve issues involving processor-based inspection equipment.
• Conduct onsite equipment inspections, system audits, and performance evaluations.
• Provide professional technical support and training to customer personnel.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system drawings.
• Complete clear, detailed service documentation and communicate effectively with internal teams.
• Work independently while managing a dynamic, travel-intensive schedule.

We are seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to support our high-speed machine vision inspection systems used in food and beverage manufacturing environments. These systems operate on demanding production lines where precision, uptime, and technical expertise are critical.

This position is ideal for a hands‑on, technically skilled professional who enjoys autonomy, extensive travel, and building strong relationships with customers as a trusted technical partner.

This is a 100% travel role supporting customers throughout North and South America. Candidates must be comfortable working independently in active manufacturing environments and managing frequent, sometimes short‑notice travel.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and upgrade machine vision inspection systems at customer sites

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Network Engineering, Computer Technology, or equivalent military technical experience/certified trade training
• Experience with inspection technologies such as:Machine Vision
• X‑Ray
• Magnetic Inspection Systems
• PLC programming and/or troubleshooting experience
• Previous field service experience in manufacturing or production environments
• Technical documentation or technical writing experience
• Metal fabrication and/or welding experience
