Job summary

AMSC is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform on-site maintenance and repair of capacitor banks, filter banks, MVTVSS, and MSPs at customer locations in Queensbury, NY. The role requires travel up to 50% and a strong ability to work from detailed instructions and building docs.

Requirements include a high school diploma (or equivalent) with preferred technical schooling; 0–2 years of experience. Valid driver’s license and clean record are important for field assignments.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Install, adjust, maintain, and repair company products at customer sites.
• Clarify issues, determine cause, explain solutions, and verify corrective action.
• Ensure products meet final building documentation and customer specifications.
• Maintain parts inventory and use a variety of small tools.
• Follow guidelines and instructions established by the organization.
• Handle basic issues and refer more complex tasks to Field Service Engineer.
• Maintain service/maintenance records.
• Follow company purchasing authorization procedures.
• Other tasks as required.

Salary Range: $36.00 To $42.00 Hourly

Title:Field Service Technician

Reports to: Field Service Supervisor

Department: Field Service

Summary – Performs basic technical services at a customer’s site or in the field.

Job Responsibilities – Activities:

Functions:

• Install, adjust, maintain, and repair company products, such as capacitor banks, filter banks, MVTVSS, snubbers, and MSP’s
• Resolve product or service problems by clarifying the customers’ issues; determining the problem; selecting and explaining the best solution; expediting correction or adjustment; follow up to ensure resolution; verify and document corrective action
• Ensure products comply with, and installed according to final building documentation, customer requirements and specifications
• Maintains a parts inventory and uses a variety of small tools
• Follows guidelines and instructions established by the organization
• Handels basic issues and problems, refer more complex services to Field Service Engineer
• Maintains service/maintenance records
• Follow company purchasing authorization procedures
• Other tasks as required

Education - Experience:

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred:

• Advanced degree orAccreditation from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program
• Possesses beginning to working knowledge of subject matter, 0-2 years of experience
