Job summary

Xylem is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform field service activities at customer sites in a safe, efficient, and professional manner. You will troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and diesel equipment depending on the unit.

This role requires independence, strong problem-solving, and the ability to work across diverse field environments. Travel to customer sites and overtime may be required; valid driver's license and clean driving

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0–2 years of technical, mechanical, electrical, diesel, or related field service experience preferred.
• Prior customer-facing experience preferred.
• Experience with mechanical equipment, electrical systems, diesel, hydraulics, HVAC, automotive, industrial equipment, pumps, fusion, or related technical fields is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain a safe work environment for employees, customers, and contractors.
• Perform troubleshooting, repair, installation, and preventative maintenance on customer- and company-owned equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, diesel, and other equipment issues as applicable to the business unit.
• Manage parts inventory and maintain accurate service documentation.
• Identify, communicate, and address safety concerns at customer sites.
• Deliver high-quality customer service while serving as a primary point of contact in the field.
• Complete service reports and required documentation accurately and on time.
• Demonstrate accountability, innovation, and ownership in daily work activities.
• Collaborate effectively with team members while maintaining the ability to work independently.
• Support multiple customer locations, systems, and technologies as required.

Candidates must have and maintain a valid driver's license and a clean driving record that meets company standards.* Candidates must successfully complete all required driver, DOT, medical, and background screening requirements. **Compensation & Benefits**The estimated salary range for this position is $28 to $33 an hour. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
