Job summary

ColonialWebb is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform construction layout for mechanical, electrical, and piping systems using robotic total stations and GNSS receivers. This field-based role travels between active commercial jobsites to review drawings and mark locations for underground services, anchors, sleeves, hangers, equipment, and other components.

Training will be provided on ColonialWebb's processes and equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial construction, surveying, civil, or skilled trades.
• Ability to read blueprints, construction drawings, or site plans.
• Willingness to travel between jobsites and work outdoors.
• Comfortable learning new technology and working independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform point layout using robotic total stations and related equipment.
• Review blueprints, shop drawings, construction plans, and 3D models.
• Complete field measurements and production verification.
• Communicate layout information to field crews and project teams.
• Upload staking data and marked PDF files.
• Document installed ductwork, piping, equipment, and related systems.
• Follow all company and jobsite safety requirements.

Job description

Pay: $25.00 to $40.00 per hour, based on experience

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Occasional overtime available

Field Service Technician

The Field Service Technician performs construction layout for mechanical, electrical, and piping systems using robotic total stations and GNSS receivers. This field based role travels between active commercial jobsites to review drawings and mark locations for underground services, anchors, sleeves, hangers, equipment, and other components.

Training will be provided on ColonialWebb's specific processes and equipment. Candidates with backgrounds in surveying, civil construction, general construction, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, or other technical field work are encouraged to apply.

What You Will Do

• Perform point layout using robotic total stations and related equipment
• Review blueprints, shop drawings, construction plans, and 3D models
• Complete field measurements and production verification
• Communicate layout information to field crews and project teams
• Upload staked point files and marked up PDFs
• Document installed ductwork, piping, equipment, and related systems
• Follow all company and jobsite safety requirements

What We Are Looking For

• Commercial construction, surveying, civil, or skilled trade experience
• Ability to read blueprints, construction drawings, or site plans
• Strong attention to detail and comfort working with measurements
• Ability to work outdoors and travel between jobsites
• Comfortable learning new technology and working independently
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience with robotic total stations, Trimble, GNSS, GPS, or construction layout is a plus, but not required.
