Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex electromechanical equipment, robotics, autonomous systems, industrial machinery, vehicles, or similar technologies.
  • Understanding of wiring, connectors, electrical systems, and electrical diagnostics.
  • Basic networking and IP communication knowledge.
  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems and command-line tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, service manuals, and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy, operate, maintain, and support robotic vehicles and associated equipment.
  • Perform system setup, configuration, calibration, commissioning, and operational readiness checks.
  • Conduct pre-operation inspections, post-operation inspections, and system health assessments.
  • Support field testing, customer demonstrations, training exercises, evaluations, and deployments.
  • Assist with transportation, staging, recovery, and accountability of field equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, software, networking, sensor, and vehicle-system issues.
  • Diagnose equipment failures and perform root-cause analysis in field environments.
  • Execute preventative and corrective maintenance activities to maximize system availability.
  • Utilize diagnostic software, system logs, Linux-based tools, and test equipment to identify issues.
  • Escalate complex technical problems to engineering teams when required.

  • Track field issues and provide actionable feedback to engineering and product teams.
  • Create detailed service reports and maintenance records.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through field observations and lessons learned.
Essential Skills
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability.

Work Environment

This position requires 80-90% travel. While the preference is for candidates to be located in Pittsburgh, they can be based anywhere in the country.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pittsburgh, PA.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $38.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
