The Field Service Technician (FST) is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment, prioritizing safety. The role involves troubleshooting to resolve issues and maximize the effectiveness of our solutions. The FST will serve as the primary representative at concrete manufacturing plants, installing and maintaining admixture dispensing systems for Ready-Mix producers.

The technician will regularly interact with plant management, operators, and personnel. Based at home, the candidate will spend about 80% of their time alone at customer sites, requiring independence. Flexibility in scheduling is necessary, as field visits may occur late at night or early morning.

Responsibilities include:

1. Installation, Maintenance, and Repair: Perform technical work on admixture dispensing equipment, including installation, preventive maintenance, calibration, and emergency repairs. Coordinate problem resolution and serve as the local liaison to customers.
2. Customer Relations: Support customer contract retention by building professional relationships through regular site visits, assessing admixture levels, and understanding customer needs. Demonstrate sound judgment, excellent communication, and professionalism.
3. Planning & Scheduling: Diagnose requirements, plan, and schedule service activities independently. Manage response times and be on call for customer requests, providing on-site technical assistance.
4. Equipment Service Administration: Use computers proficiently for ordering parts, managing expenses, scheduling maintenance, and CRM reporting.
5. Other Duties: Complete safety training, develop industry knowledge, suggest equipment improvements, and collaborate with R&D for system enhancements.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 6+ years of mechanical/engineering experience (education beyond high school counts as experience)
• Experience with mechanical, pneumatic, electrical (12/24V DC), and hydraulic systems
• Ability to learn new technology quickly
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Electro-mechanical aptitude and experience with hand/power tools

Preferred:

• Experience in field service or trailer hauling
• Knowledge of the Ready-Mix concrete industry
