About the Company

SW North America specializes in delivering demanding, workpiece-specific manufacturing systems for the global metalworking industry. Our key feature is our extensive range of 2- and 4-spindle horizontal machining centers.

About the Role

The Service Technician will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, servicing, and installing CNC milling machining centers. The role involves assisting customers with troubleshooting and problem resolution. This position requires 100% domestic travel, with candidates working from home and traveling regularly to client sites. Service areas include Nevada and surrounding regions.

Responsibilities

1. Install, commission, and service SW custom-built machines.
2. Demonstrate new machines at customer sites, including electrical and mechanical check-outs, setup, commissioning, tooling, operation, and programming as needed.
3. Conduct root cause analysis and produce detailed documentation.
4. Prepare and submit demonstration reports accurately and promptly.
5. Provide timely field service for SW machines as required.
6. Diagnose and repair basic electrical, electronic, mechanical, or hydraulic issues during warranty period.
7. Cross-train in mechanical, electrical, and electronic maintenance.
8. Assist customers with operational and programming issues during warranty.
9. Perform maintenance and provide support post-warranty.
10. Train customer personnel and upgrade personal skills through training and seminars.
11. Assist other technicians with various tasks for on-the-job training.
12. Attend industry schools, seminars, and conferences to stay current with CNC technology.
13. Train customers in processing, tooling, operation, and servicing of SW machines.
14. Participate in on-call duties as required.
15. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

1. Minimum 5+ years experience as a Service Technician, with training on servicing up to 4-axis CNC machines.
2. Understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and laser systems.
3. Knowledge of CNC equipment.
4. PLC programming experience with Siemens Step 7.
5. Valid Driver’s License.
6. English language proficiency (reading, writing, speaking).
7. Basic knowledge of Windows and MS Office.
8. German language skills are a plus but not required.
