Group O, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, troubleshoot, and repair equipment at customer sites in Milan, IL. You will travel extensively, diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems, and deliver outstanding customer service.

A High School Diploma and a valid driver’s license are required, with PLC programming experience highly valued. You will work independently, maintain clear documentation, and stay current on industry best practices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and valid driver's license.
• Proven experience as Field Service Technician or similar role.
• PLC programming is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and diagrams.

Field Service Technician

Compensation: $25.00 - $45.00 / hour

Description

As a Field Service Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the optimal performance of our equipment and systems at customer locations. Your primary responsibilities will include installing, troubleshooting, and repairing a diverse range of machinery and technology, while delivering exceptional customer service. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, critical thinking skills, and the ability to work independently in various settings. The ideal candidate is a technically proficient professional with experience in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems. They possess strong critical thinking skills, a commitment to excellent customer service, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Install, configure, and maintain equipment and systems at customer sites.
• Coordinating sales for service and parts including gathering requirements, recommending purchases, recommending preventative maintenance programs, pricing, providing quotes, and receiving orders for service and parts and relaying them to operations.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, providing timely and effective solutions.
• Perform regular maintenance and repairs, ensuring minimal downtime for clients.
• Provide clear and detailed documentation of service activities and findings.
• Train customers on proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain an elevated level of customer satisfaction through professional and courteous communication.
• Find and support opportunities for improved performance, cost-savings, and efficiency.
• Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
• Adhere to safety protocols and company policies at all times.

Expected hours of work:

• Work flexible hours as needed.

Travel:

• A willingness to travel extensively and overnight

Job Qualifications

Education/Certifications:

• High School Diploma
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Experience:

• Proven experience as a Field Service Technician or similar role.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Ability to program programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
• Basic user abilities in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent critical thinking skills and mindfulness.
• Effective communication and people skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit, stand or bend for an extended period and lift to 50 pounds.
