Job summary

G&W Equipment, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician for the Charleston, SC area to service forklifts and material handling equipment at customer facilities.

You will diagnose, repair, and perform scheduled maintenance in the field, delivering safe, reliable repairs to keep customer operations running smoothly. You will work independently with strong diagnostic skills and communicate clearly with customers about repairs and equipment status, while maintaining documentation and adhering

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience repairing forklifts or heavy equipment.
• Experience with multiple brands of forklifts.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying environments.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair forklifts and material handling equipment (electric, LPG, diesel, and gas)
• Perform planned maintenance, safety inspections, and emergency repairs
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic systems
• Communicate clearly with customers regarding repairs, recommendations, and equipment status
• Complete service reports and documentation accurately and on time
• Maintain service vehicle, tools, and inventory in a professional manner
• Follow all safety policies and procedures
