Protean Instruments, a division of Ludlum Measurements, Inc., is seeking a self-starter Field Service Technician to join our team in Knoxville, TN. The Field Service Technician will drive service success that improves customer satisfaction, maximizes customer retention, and increases profitability.

Provide service during field visits, install, repair, maintain and test equipment, and document processes. Travel about 1–2 weeks per month is required; a technical degree or certification is

Qualifications

• Proven field service experience.
• Technical degree or certification preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to travel 1–2 weeks per month.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide service and customer support during field visits.
• Manage onsite installation, repair, maintenance and test tasks.
• Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions.
• Produce timely and detailed service reports and document processes.
• Operate vehicles safely and use field automation systems.
• Cooperate with technical team and share information across the organization.
• Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide service and customer support during field visits or dispatches
• Tie workflow to schedule
• Manage all onsite installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks
• Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions
• Produce timely and detailed service reports while documenting processes
• Operate vehicles in a safe manner and use field automation systems
• Follow all company files procedures and protocols
• Cooperate with technical team and share information across the organization
• Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications

• Proven field service experience
• Technical degree or certification preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to travel 1-2 weeks per month
• Excellentorganizationalskillsandattentiontodetail

• Beginner Electronic Technical Skills

• Ability to read and interpret schematics

• Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment

• Through hole Soldering Experience

• Familiarity and operation of oscilloscope, computers, mobile tools, and applications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work flexible shifts and to adapt to changing work schedules
