Job summary

Protean Instruments, a division of Ludlum Measurements, Inc., seeks a Field Service Technician in Knoxville, TN, to support on-site service, installation, and maintenance across customer sites. You will travel, diagnose technical issues, and generate detailed service reports while ensuring safety and adherence to procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide service and customer support during field visits or dispatches.
• Tie workflow to schedule.
• Manage all onsite installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks.
• Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions.
• Produce timely and detailed service reports while documenting processes.
• Operate vehicles in a safe manner and use field automation systems.
• Follow all company procedures and protocols.
• Cooperate with technical team and share information across the organization.
• Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

The Field Service Technician will drive service success that improves customer satisfaction, maximizes customer retention, and increases profitability.Job Type: Full-Time, In-Person

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide service and customer support during field visits or dispatches
• Tie workflow to schedule
• Manage all onsite installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks
• Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions

Skills & Qualifications

• Proven field service experience
• Technical degree or certification preferred

• Beginner Electronic Technical Skills

• Ability to read and interpret schematics

• Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment

• Through hole Soldering Experience

• Familiarity and operation of oscilloscope, computers, mobile tools, and applications

• Ability to work flexible shifts and to adapt to changing work schedules
