Job summary

AZON USA, Inc. seeks a Field Service Technician to install, maintain and repair Azon machinery used in polyurethane chemical processing. You will visit customer sites quarterly for maintenance, audits, and procedure reviews, while receiving extensive hands-on training from an experienced service manager.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated problem solver, responsive to customer needs, with strong communication skills and a focus on quality service. Travel within US/Canada is required.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or 5 years installing and maintaining machinery preferred.
• Experience with mechanical inspection and diagnostics.
• Maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

Responsibilities

• Install new machinery at customer facilities worldwide.
• Maintain and troubleshoot machinery including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Train customer operators on setup, operation, maintenance, repair, and safety.
• Conduct quality audit visits for North American locations quarterly.
• Submit field reports detailing visits and work performed.
• Communicate with customers about machinery and chemical-related issues.
• Inform customers of Azon products/services to improve operations.
• Assist with assembling and testing new machinery when not in the field.
• Deliver over-the-phone technical support to customers.
• Provide parts quotes and manage travel/expense reports.

Job description

The position will have a wide range of responsibilities including installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide variety of Azon custom machinery used in the processing of Azon polyurethane chemicals. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated problem solver who is responsive to customers’ needs. The Field Service Technician performs quality assurance audits; visiting customer locations quarterly to review production procedures, provide machinery maintenance, and to ensure established quality protocols are being followed. Our technicians receive extensive hands‑on training, from an established service manager, on the safe operation of all Azon machinery.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Install new machinery at customer facilities worldwide
• Maintain and troubleshoot all aspects of Azon machinery including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Train customer machine operators and technicians on machinery setup, operation, preventative maintenance, repair, and safety
• Conduct quality audit visits for North American customer locations on a quarterly basis
• Complete and submit field reports that detail the visit and work completed
• Communicate accurately and professionally with customers regarding all machinery and chemical related issues and questions
• Inform customers of Azon products and services that may improve their operating efficiency
• When not in the field, the technician will assist with assembling and testing new machinery
• Regularly deliver over-the-phone technical support to customers
• Provide parts quotes to customers
• Maintain all required expense and travel reports

Education, Skills and Experience

• Technical degree or 5 years installing and maintaining machinery preferred
• Mechanical inspection and diagnostics experience
• Electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic maintenance and troubleshooting
• Quality and customer service focus
• Ability to read and understand schematics and blueprints

Requirements

• Ability to lift 50-75 pounds
• Travel requirements of 50% within the U.S. and Canada
• International travel may be required 1-2 times a year
• Maintain valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Perform work in a safety conscious manner
