Associated is seeking a Forklift Field Service Technician in Joliet, IL to deliver on-site service, installations, repairs, and maintenance for electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and material handling equipment.

You will travel as needed, earn a competitive hourly wage, enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, and benefit from 4-day or 5-day work week options to fit your lifestyle. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1–3 years mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic experience.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Knowledge of schematics, blueprints and manuals; safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, install, repair electro‑mechanical equipment and perform planned maintenance.
• Analyze breakdowns, recommend corrective actions, and perform repairs efficiently.
• Demonstrate professional customer service and build positive client relationships.

Responsibilities:

As a Forklift Field Service Technician, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional service to our customers by:

• Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnosing electro-mechanical issues, completing installations, and performing both unscheduled repairs and scheduled maintenance based on customer requirements.
• Problem Analysis and Resolutions: Analyzing breakdown situations, recommending corrective actions to customers, and executing repairs efficiently and professionally.
• Customer Service Excellence: Demonstrating professionalism and fostering positive relationships with customers while delivering superior customer service.

Qualifications:

• Technical Expertise: Proficiency in reading schematics, maps, blueprints, and manuals, coupled with knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and material handling equipment.
• Customer-Centric Approach: Strong interpersonal skills, ability to exchange information courteously, and a commitment to exceptional customer relations.
• Safety and Resourcefulness: Competency in safely operating various equipment and personal hand tools, coupled with the ability to leverage available support resources effectively.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the following physical activities on a regular basis:

Must be able to operate a forklift, you must safely fit inside a tight operator compartment measuring 16 to 20 inches wide and perform mechanical repairs in restricted, confined spaces.

Strength & Lifting

Light Work– Regularly lift and move up to20 lbs.

Medium Work– Frequently lift and move up to50 lbs.

Heavy Work– Occasionally lift and move up to100 lbs.

Very Heavy Work– Rarely required to lift over110 lbs..

Note:The role may also involve extended periods of walking and standing.

Movement & Mobility

Regularly: Reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling

Frequently: Stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling

Occasionally: Climbing, balancing, and kneeling

Communication Requirements

Regularly: Talking and hearing to communicate with team members and customers.

Education and Experience:

A high school diploma/GED along with one to three years of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic experience in a similar environment or equivalent vocational education. A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are essential.
