Job summary

Associated is seeking a Forklift Field Service Technician to deliver on-site service in the Chicago area. You will diagnose electro-mechanical issues, install and repair equipment, and perform scheduled maintenance according to customer requirements.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic experience, strong reading of schematics, and a safety-first mindset. A valid driver’s license is required; company van and tools are provided on site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 1–3 years in mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic work in similar environment.
• Experience reading schematics, maps, blueprints, and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting and repair of electro-mechanical issues; install or maintain systems per customer requirements.
• Analyze breakdowns, recommend corrective actions, and perform repairs efficiently.
• Deliver excellent customer service and build professional customer relationships.

Responsibilities:

As a Forklift Field Service Technician, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional service to our customers by:

• Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnosing electro-mechanical issues, completing installations, and performing both unscheduled repairs and scheduled maintenance based on customer requirements.


• Problem Analysis and Resolutions: Analyzing breakdown situations, recommending corrective actions to customers, and executing repairs efficiently and professionally.


• Customer Service Excellence: Demonstrating professionalism and fostering positive relationships with customers while delivering superior customer service.

Qualifications:

• Technical Expertise: Proficiency in reading schematics, maps, blueprints, and manuals, coupled with knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and material handling equipment.


• Customer-Centric Approach: Strong interpersonal skills, ability to exchange information courteously, and a commitment to exceptional customer relations.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the following physical activities on a regular basis:

Must be able to operate a forklift, you must safely fit inside a tight operator compartment measuring 16 to 20 inches wide and perform mechanical repairs in restricted, confined spaces.

Strength & Lifting

Light Work– Regularly lift and move up to20 lbs.

Medium Work– Frequently lift and move up to50 lbs.

Heavy Work– Occasionally lift and move up to100 lbs.
