HICO America in Greensburg, PA is seeking a Field Service Technician to support installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repairs of MV and HV switchgear, STATCOM, and ESS products at customer sites.

The role requires travel up to 25%, ability to read schematics, troubleshoot Electrical/Mechanical issues, and maintain field service reports. You will work in both indoor/outdoor environments and coordinate with the Field Service Manager.

Qualifications

• 2 year associate or specialized degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Electrical/Mechanical Technology.
• 3 years related experience working in substations or a switchgear manufacturing facility.
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
• Ability to use PC and office equipment.
• Ability to perform analysis related to technical, commercial and financial matters.
• Ability to communicate effectively to perform work.
• Ability to prepare and present marketing presentations.
• Ability to work in outdoor and indoor environments as required to perform work

The Field Service Technician will travel to customer sites to support the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repairs of MV and HV Switchgear, STATCOM, and ESS HICO America products.

THE NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

• Read and interpret schematic drawings
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues
• Willing to work overtime (including weekends) at the Field Service Manager's direction
• Required to travel to perform field service assignments as directed by management.
• Create and maintain field service reports and documentation
• Maintain service equipment, general housekeeping and warehouse activities including loading and offloading of material, cleaning work areas, and keeping field service equipment organized
• Maintain communication with customers, employees, and management.
• Be able to pass a random drug and alcohol test
• Ability to obtain a passport and be willing to travel out of country on rare occasions
• Ability to read and interpret AC and DC schematic drawings
• Experience in wiring, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical
• Experience using cranes and forklifts
• Basic knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
• Mechanically inclined with the ability to use common hand tools
• Basic computer skills, Microsoft office products
• HVAC working knowledge would be beneficial
