Job description

The Opening

We are currently seeking an Emergency Response Environmental Technician based in Omaha, NE, to assist with hazardous waste clean-up, site remediation, equipment decontamination, and handling of hazardous materials. Candidates must be available to work 24/7, 365 days a year, on call.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure health and safety by following PROS - Pause, Review, Observe, Start
• Perform non-emergency and emergency response activities with hazardous materials
• Perform labor-intensive activities in all weather conditions
• Work in confined spaces, low clearances, and at heights
• Operate and maintain light and heavy equipment such as skid steers, forklifts, pressure washers
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment
• Maintain warehouse, stock supplies, and building upkeep
• Be available for emergency response work after-hours and on weekends
• Occasional travel may be required
• Have an excellent driving record (mandatory)
• Be able to work 24/7, respond within 60 minutes to Omaha Office

What does it take to work at Environmental Restoration?

• Pass pre-employment drug screening, background check, and physical exam
• Legally eligible to work in the U.S. (verified through E-Verify)
• Willing to obtain OSHA 40-hour certification (reimbursement available)
• Physically capable of performing intensive labor
• Able to wear PPE, including respiratory protection
• Lift and carry 50 pounds
• Follow written and oral instructions

Environmental experience, hazardous waste certification (e.g., OSHA 40hr HAZWOPER), CDL, and heavy equipment experience are a plus.
