About the role

The Field Service Technician is responsible for providing customers with technical support and services; including but not limited to preventive maintenance, installation, site surveys, demand and emergency services specifically related to digital cinema equipment.

What you'll do

• Perform maintenance on cinema projection equipment, digital signage, sound systems, servers, and power supplies.
• Provide demand service for customers; determine and execute a support plan.
• Test electronic assembly, components or parts by connecting to various equipment, such as ohmmeter, voltmeter, ammeter, color meter, resistance bridge, oscilloscope, automatic or computerized test equipment.
• Examine equipment and assemblies for defects and replace defective components. Repair equipment and perform field testing. Resolve firmware and software issues.
• Direct investigation of customer complaints regarding quality, tolerances, specifications, and delivered condition of products.
• Record, analyze, and inform appropriate personnel of production quality, and sales departments of status and disposition of customer complaints and claims utilizing written and electronic reporting.
• Install electronic or digital equipment and test.
• Record activities in Field Point daily, including but not limited to work description, expenses, hours, labor, and travel.
• Willing to take ownership and take on other duties as assigned.
• This position requires in and out of market travel up to 70-80% of the time; this position also requires the ability to work weekends, holidays and on-call.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with electronics related to the Pro-Av market.
• Familiarity with computer and networking concepts and architecture.
• Experience with digital cinema equipment is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Proficient with MS Office.
• This position requires a valid, state issued driver’s license.
• This position requires the ability to stand, sit, squat and bend for a period of time.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Comfortable working in a high-stress, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
• Excellent time management, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Self-starter who can find and resolve issues as they are identified.
• Ability to successfully interface with a wide range of personnel within the organization.
