Job Overview

Our experienced Technicians are crucial to our success, consistently exceeding customer expectations and maintaining our status as the industry standard in protective packaging. We are currently hiring a Field Service Technician.


Job Responsibilities

  1. Provide service and customer support during field visits or dispatches
  2. Manage all onsite installation, repair, maintenance, and testing tasks
  3. Travel extensively nationally and occasionally internationally, with travel frequency and duration of 50-75% based on your home location
  4. Expect to be on out-of-town job sites for 2-3 weeks without returning home
  5. Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine appropriate solutions
  6. Produce timely and detailed service reports and document processes
  7. Troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic issues on Pregis packaging lines, basic computer networks, and peripheral systems
  8. Operate vehicles safely and utilize field automation systems
  9. Follow all company procedures and protocols
  10. Collaborate with the technical team and share information organization-wide
  11. Understand customer requirements and provide appropriate recommendations
  12. Build positive customer relationships
  13. Maintain high customer satisfaction through troubleshooting, repair, and escalation of ongoing issues
  14. Use electronic testing equipment, wiring diagrams, and applications like IndraWorks, Siemens, Allen Bradley, and Exor
  15. Escalate complex problems to support teams and assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment
  16. Prepare job estimates and reports as required
  17. Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
  18. Complete all paperwork promptly, including expenses, timesheets, and service reports

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in electrical or mechanical field service
  • Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment
  • Proficiency in English
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including overtime and weekends, with periodic travel of several weeks
  • Familiarity with mobile tools and applications
  • Valid driver’s license
