Job summary

Laborde Products is seeking experienced Field Service Technicians to diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair marine and industrial diesel engines and equipment. You’ll work in the field, performing maintenance and repairs with a focus on quality and efficiency.

Three or more years as a professional diesel technician, strong mechanical and diagnostic skills, and the ability to work independently in the field are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional diesel technician experience.
• Strong mechanical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.
• Major engine repair experience; engine rebuild experience highly valued.
• Ability to work independently in the field; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair marine and industrial diesel engines and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose diesel engine problems.
• Perform maintenance, repairs, and major engine work.
• Complete engine rebuilds based on experience.
• Read service manuals, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Perform field service and support customers.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and your service vehicle.

Marine experience is NOT required. If your background is in heavy equipment, trucking, power generation, industrial equipment, or another diesel environment, your experience may be a great fit.

What You'll Do

You’ll diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair marine and industrial diesel engines and equipment.

Your Work Will Include

• Troubleshooting and diagnosing diesel engine problems
• Performing maintenance, repairs, and major engine work
• Completing engine rebuilds based on experience
• Reading service manuals, schematics, and technical documentation
• Performing field service and supporting customers
• Maintaining tools, equipment, and your assigned service vehicle

You’ll have the opportunity to work independently, solve challenging problems, and tackle a variety of repairs rather than doing the same job every day.

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of professional diesel technician experience
• Strong mechanical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills
• Major engine repair experience
• Engine rebuild experience is highly valued
• Ability to work independently in the field
• Strong work ethic and commitment to quality
• Professional and dependable
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• Marine diesel experience is a plus, but not required
