Job summary

Porter Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician in Bradenton, FL to diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, and industrial machinery. You will read schematics, work with PLCs, and interact with customers on-site, ensuring safety and quality across installations and maintenance.

This role offers ongoing training, performance reviews, and opportunities for pay increases. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus but not required; a valid driver’s license is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience reading and interpreting schematics for complex equipment.
• Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and electrical systems.
• Strong mechanical and technical skills with attention to safety procedures.
• Willingness to communicate effectively with customers and team members.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair trash compactors, balers, dock levelers and related electrical components.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance.
• Execute hydraulic hose repairs and assist with equipment installations.
• Conduct electrical repairs and PLC programming; maintain safe, clean work environment.
• Track equipment and supplies and perform other duties as assigned.

Our client, a full-service waste management company is experiencing significant growth. We are looking for a Field Service Technician to join their team. Qualified candidates shall possess skills associated with Hydraulic, Electrical and Industrial machinery repairs and troubleshooting.

• Potential employee must be reliable, professional in appearance and be able to communicate with our valued customers at a particularly high level.


• Ability to read and comprehend schematics.


• Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's)


• Knowledge of safety and limit switches along with components.


• Welding Experience.


• Fluent in English and Spanish language would be ideal but not essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide diagnosis and repairs to Trash compactors, Balers, Dock levelers and electrical components for motors.


• Perform routine preventative maintenance.


• Perform hydraulic hose repair.


• Assist with equipment installations.


• Conduct electrical repairs and PLC programing.


• Maintain safe and clean work environment.


• Track all equipment and supplies.


• Perform other duties as instructed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have clean valid driver's license.


• Strong mechanical and technical skills.


• Detail oriented with strong customer service skills.


• Employee shall possess cell phone.


• Have basic grammar, email and phone skills.


• Familiarity with construction sites and safety procedures.
