Job summary

Komatsu America Corp. is seeking an Onsite Field Service Technician in Billings, MT to maintain and repair underground equipment and perform timely field repairs of machine components.

The role includes troubleshooting, diagnosing faults, commissioning new equipment, and providing customer training as required. You will stay current with industry developments, build strong customer relationships, and ensure satisfaction while following safety policies.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent in diesel technology or related field.
  • 1–3 years of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Flexibility to work various schedules including shift work.
  • Forklift and/or manlift certification is required.
  • DOT physical may be required.
  • MSHA certification may be required.
  • Respirator certification may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect equipment for proper performance and determine faults and malfunctions.
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosis; adjust equipment & repair/replace parts components or systems according to scopes of work.
  • Tests repaired equipment to ensure proper operational performance.
  • Commission new equipment.
  • Provide customer training as required.
  • Stay current with industry, customer, product developments and technical best practices.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external customers to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction within area of primary responsibility
  • Work safely and follow all Komatsu/Customer safety policies and procedures.
  • Complete related paperwork and access databases required to complete job accurately and timely.
  • Follow contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations.
  • Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies with minimal supervision.
