Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 4+ years of electrical experience.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• State-required electrical certification or license (Journeyman, Wireman, or equivalent).
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Experience using electrical diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair solar energy systems, batteries, generators, and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and health assessments on panels, inverters, and batteries.
• Commission new systems and upgrades while following NEC, AHJ, and utility requirements.
• Maintain service records, inspection reports, and documentation with photos.
• Follow safety procedures including PPE, lockout/tagout, and fall protection.
• Travel locally to customer sites and communicate repair recommendations clearly.

Otovo is seeking a skilled and dependable Field Service Technician to join our growing renewable energy team. In this role, you'll service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial solar energy systems, battery storage solutions, and generators. This position is ideal for an experienced electrical professional who enjoys hands-on technical work, solving complex problems, and delivering exceptional customer service while supporting the transition to clean energy.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair solar panels, inverters, batteries, generators, and related equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance including panel cleaning, wiring inspections, inverter testing, and battery health assessments
• Commission new systems and upgrades while ensuring compliance with NEC, AHJ, and utility requirements
• Utilize diagnostic tools such as multimeters, clamp meters, and thermal imaging equipment
• Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and photo documentation
• Follow all safety procedures including PPE usage, lockout/tagout processes, and fall protection requirements
• Respond to emergency service calls and warranty-related repairs as needed
• Communicate effectively with homeowners and customers regarding system status and repair recommendations
• Represent Otovo professionally at customer sites

Job Requirements
