Job summary

Otovo is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to install, service, and repair residential and commercial solar energy systems, battery storage, and generators. You will diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure safe, code-compliant operations at customer sites.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of electrical experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to read schematics; travel locally and work overtime as needed. NABCEP certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of electrical experience.
• State-required electrical certification or license (Journeyman, Wireman, or equivalent).
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Experience using electrical diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair solar panels, inverters, batteries, generators, and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance including panel cleaning, wiring inspections, inverter testing, and battery health assessments.
• Commission new systems and upgrades while ensuring compliance with NEC, AHJ, and utility requirements.
• Utilize diagnostic tools such as multimeters, clamp meters, and thermal imaging equipment.
• Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and photo documentation.
• Follow all safety procedures including PPE usage, lockout/tagout processes, and fall protection requirements.
• Respond to emergency service calls and warranty-related repairs as needed.
• Communicate effectively with homeowners and customers regarding system status and repair recommendations.
• Represent Otovo professionally at customer sites.

Job Requirements

• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings
• Experience using electrical diagnostic equipment
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to climb ladders and work on rooftops
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Willingness to travel locally and work overtime as needed
• State-required electrical certification or license (Journeyman, Wireman, or equivalent)
