Job summary

Grundfos is seeking a Field Service Technician in Aurora, IL, to perform hands-on repair, maintenance and troubleshooting of pump systems, both on-site and in-shop. You will travel to customer sites up to 50% and report to the Head of Service & Solutions for the Midwest.

Qualifications

• Hands-on field service experience in pump technology or similar industrial environment.
• Minimum 2+ years of work experience in pump technology or equivalent.
• Ability to travel up to 50% and mobilize for field work on short notice.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and reassemble pumps and pump systems in‑shop or at customer sites.
• Conduct risk assessments for every task and report Safety, Health, and Environment matters.
• Advise customers on system shortcomings and preventive solutions; identify sales leads for stakeholders.
• Prepare clear service reports including warranty claims and working hours; ensure timely submission.
• Support project execution including installation, commissioning, diagnostics, and maintenance under service level agreements.
• Develop hands‑on service capability and master the use of service tools and equipment.

As our new Field Service Technician , you'll be performing repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of pump systems both on‑site and in‑shop that ensure our customers' operations run reliably and efficiently. This position reports directly to the Head of Service & Solutions for the Midwest and will be fully onsite at our Aurora IL facility.

What you will be doing:

As a key part of the Field Service team, you'll create impact by delivering expert technical service and proactive solutions that strengthen customer relationships and maximize equipment uptime.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Disassemble, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and reassemble pumps, pump systems, and accessories in‑shop or at customer sites
• Conduct risk assessments for every task and report on all Safety, Health, and Environment matters
• Advise customers on system shortcomings, recommend preventive solutions, and identify sales leads for stakeholders
• Prepare clear, complete service reports including warranty claims and working hours, ensuring timely submission
• Support project execution including installation, commissioning, diagnostics, and maintenance under service level agreements
• Continuously develop hands‑on service capability and master the use of service tools and equipment

• Technical education in electrical or mechanical engineering
• A minimum of 2+ years of work experience in pump technology or a comparable industrial environment
• Ability to travel approximately up to 50% of the time and mobilize for field work on short notice

• Experience with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning systems
• Familiarity with service agreement execution and warranty processes
• Experience with commissioning and installation of rotating equipment

The salary range for this position is $26.00 to $37.00 per hour. Individual pay will be determined based on market location and the candidate's profile. The range listed is just one component of Grundfos's total compensation and benefits package for employees.
