Job summary

Siddons-Martin Emergency Group is seeking a Field Service Technician to service and repair fire apparatus equipment across assigned territories. The role requires travel to customer sites for diagnostics, installation, and ongoing maintenance while ensuring equipment safety and reliability.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, a clean driving record and knowledge of heavy truck repair principles.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Clean driving record with or able to obtain a Class B non-exempt CDL driver license.
• Knowledge of repair principles and procedures in Heavy Truck Repair Industry.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair all fire apparatus equipment.
• Travel to customer locations to test and repair equipment.
• Provide troubleshooting and installation of equipment.
• Assist customers and respond to needs as required.
• Confirm equipment is functional after service.
• Provide telephone support for troubleshooting.
• Ensure equipment remains in proper working condition after service.

Summary

The Field Service Technician is responsible for the service and repair all equipment, troubleshooting, analysis of apparatus failure, and keeping apparatus and equipment in a high level of service and safety.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for the service and repair of all fire apparatus equipment.
• Testing and repairing equipment by traveling to the location of the customer.
• Provide troubleshooting and performing installation of equipment.
• Attending to the needs of the customer whenever required.
• Provide confirmation that equipment is functional.
• Provide telephone support to the customer in order to perform troubleshooting.
• Follow through to ensure equipment is in proper working condition after performing troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Must be willing to travel within an assigned territory.
• Must be dependable.
• Excellent customer service skills, both verbal and written.
• Must assume responsibility for high quality repair process.
• Must have the ability to work independently or with less supervision
• Should have excellent verbal communication skills
• Must have the ability to work under pressure
• Ability to manage service calls

Education and/or Experience

• High School Diploma or GED
• Clean driving record with or able to obtain a Class B non-exempt CDL driver license
• Knowledge of repair principles and procedures in all areas of the Heavy Truck Repaid Industry

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• EVT (Emergency Vehicle Technician) and ASE Heavy Truck Certifications are a plus
