Yaskawa America, Inc. - Drives & Motion Division in Illinois seeks a Technical Support Engineer to provide high-quality phone support, field service engineering, and technical assistance for customers on installation, start-up, maintenance, repair, training, parts, and project work.

The position is based at Yaskawa's headquarters in Waukegan, IL, requiring a driven, learning-oriented individual with solid electronics knowledge and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• BSEE/BSET preferred, or equivalent technical training, or equivalent work experience.
• One-year experience in technical customer interaction with drives, motion controllers, servos, CNCs, PLCs, robotics, or similar industrial controls.
• Understanding of drives, controllers, robotics, or similar industrial controls.
• Knowledge of electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, power analyzers, multimeters).
• Valid driver's license and US passport eligibility.
• Computer literacy with IBM PC software and good typing skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide customers with fast and efficient telephone support for aftermarket services.
• Complete training as a 'Certified Specialist' and maintain certification with product changes.
• Travel for field service as directed by customers and be on 24-hour on-call duty on rotation.
• Input call information into CRM and generate reports on service work performed.
• Assist in training and mentoring of newly hired service engineers.
