Job summary

SpectrumVoIP is seeking a Field Service Technician in the Sacramento area to install and maintain VoIP hardware, cabling, and security gear at customer sites. You will run network tests, configure devices, and guide customers through setup and operation, ensuring installations are completed with high quality and reliability.

You will travel to sites, work independently with autonomy, and contribute to a collaborative installation team that customers rely on for ongoing support and success.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of field service experience servicing commercial customers.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Solid TCP/IP networking and network configuration understanding.
• Experience with ISP circuits (Cable, DSL, T1, FiOS, etc.).
• Structured cabling: running CAT5e, terminations, testing and troubleshooting.
• Experience with analog POTS services on 66 and 110 blocks.
• Ability to follow installation documentation and work independently.
• Strong communication and customer-first presence.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure VoIP hardware and related equipment.
• Run, terminate, and test structured Ethernet cabling.
• Install or reconfigure routers, firewalls, and network peripherals.
• Install camera systems and door phones.
• Troubleshoot networked office equipment and peripherals.
• Train customers on products and services for day-one confidence.
• Maintain inventory and follow safety guidelines.
