Job summary

Swisslog Healthcare is seeking a Field Service Technician for the Houston area to service, repair, and install pharmacy automation systems. You will travel to customer sites, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, and train staff on system operation and maintenance.

The role requires 1–3 years of electro-mechanical field service experience, the ability to read technical diagrams, strong communication, and independence. Travel up to 60% and on-call work may be required.

Qualifications

• Vocational or related military experience, or equivalent.
• 1–3 years field service experience with electro-mechanical products.
• Strong communication style to build customer trust.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• PC software/hardware literacy and Windows applications.
• Basic computer networking skills.
• Self-starter, well organized, able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide scheduled preventive maintenance for contract customers.
• Provide on-demand 24/7 emergency and paid services.
• Perform start-up services on Translogic Systems.
• Assist with start-up of new Swisslog products with Installation Specialists.
• Report quality issues and file reports as directed.
• Train customers on system and light maintenance.
• Promote parts orders and inventory levels to customers.
• Conduct periodic visits to monitor performance and satisfaction.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts and consignment stock.
• Assist customers with parts orders and information requests.
• Advise Customer Care Manager of problems or opportunities.
• Complete paperwork: work orders, expense reports, downtime reports, startup logs.
• Communicate with sales/support about customers.
• Care for company property and spend resources responsibly.
• Maintain professional appearance.
• Adhere to safety policies.
• Attend required training on system updates.
• Position may require travel, holidays and weekend work.
