Job summary

Linde plc in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to diagnose and repair customer machines onsite, install new equipment, and ensure safe operation after service. A strong electrical background in manufacturing and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Technical Degree in Electronics preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record required.
• Five years of experience in electrical work within a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Welding or cutting experience is an advantage.
• Excellent communication skills and proficiency with computers or PC applications.
• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50%, including overnight trips.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze customer machines onsite to diagnose problems and independently recommend solutions.
• Survey customer machines to establish baseline efficiencies and savings, present findings, and implement solutions independently.
• Install new machines according to manufacturer installation standards.
• Collaborate with National Market Manager to propose new machines to customers.
• Ensure equipment is in safe working condition after repairs are completed.
• Provide monthly reporting of activities and billings to the National Automation Service Manager.
• Attend service trainings to stay current with technologies and offerings.
• Work collaboratively within a team environment alongside other regional technicians.
