Job summary

PALFINGER seeks a Mobile Hydraulic Crane & Forklift Service Mechanic in the Rochester, NY area to diagnose and repair articulating cranes, truck-mounted forklifts, conveyors, trucks, and trailers on-site. You will perform preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, and warranty service while resolving issues safely and efficiently.

Expect after-hours emergency calls and clear documentation of labor, parts, and inventory.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of mechanical experience or training, ideally with articulating cranes and forklifts.
• English fluency (spoken and written).
• Valid CDL driver’s license—or willingness to obtain within 60 days of hire.
• Your own general tools (PALFINGER proprietary tools provided).

Responsibilities

• On-site diagnosis and repair of articulating cranes, truck-mounted forklifts, conveyors, trucks, and trailers.
• Perform quarterly preventive maintenance per customer schedules and Annual DOT inspections.
• Handle warranty service with precision.
• Respond to emergencies or unscheduled calls, including after hours.
• Translate technical findings for site and fleet managers with clear next steps.
• Capture service documentation: estimates, work orders, parts ordering, and labor entries.
