Job summary

PALFINGER is seeking an experienced Field Service Mechanic to service articulated cranes, truck-mounted forklifts, conveyors, trucks and trailers on customer sites in the Charlotte, NC area. This full-time role reports to the Regional Field Service Manager and requires mobility to work on-site at customer locations.

You will diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, perform preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, and warranty work, while maintaining safety and quality

Qualifications

• 3+ years mechanical experience or training, ideally cranes and forklifts.
• Valid CDL or willingness to obtain within 60 days of hire.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Comfort outdoors in all weather; able to lift 75+ lbs.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair articulating cranes, truck-mounted forklifts, conveyors, trucks and trailers on customer sites.
• Complete quarterly preventive maintenance, annual DOT inspections, and warranty work.
• Respond to urgent, unscheduled service needs during regular and after-hours.
• Communicate mechanical findings and recommended fixes to job-site contacts and fleet managers.
• Document work with accuracy: create estimates, obtain approvals, order parts, track labor, and log inventory.
• Operate in full compliance with state and federal safety regulations.
• Keep vehicle, equipment, and work areas clean and orderly.
